Membership Engagement Committee

Functions

  1. The functions of the Membership Engagement Committee are as follows:

    1. Making recommendations for appropriate by-laws and subject to those by-laws, establishing and revising policies and procedures governing communication by way of publications between the Partythe incorporated association referred to in clause 40(1) and its members;

    2. Establishing and revising policies and procedures within the Partythe incorporated association referred to in clause 40(1) to enable the Partythe incorporated association referred to in clause 40(1) to reflect the diversity of the Victorian community;

    3. Planning and reviewing Partythe incorporated association referred to in clause 40(1) organisational training and education (including publications and resources for the use of members and Branches, etc.), other than that connected with the conduct of election campaigns; in consultation with Branches, Regions and other relevant standing committees;

    4. Supporting the development of, and overseeing, the operation of identity based internal Partythe incorporated association referred to in clause 40(1) working groups;

    5. Developing strategies to engage and grow Partythe incorporated association referred to in clause 40(1) membership, and supporting Branches in this endeavour;

    6. Preparation of plans and strategy proposals in relation to any matters referred to it by State Council or State Executive, and;

    7. Making recommendations about the above matters to State Council and State Executive.

Composition

  1. Membership Engagement Committee shall consist of:
  1. The Membership Engagement Convenor elected by postal or electronic ballota secret ballot that uses a single transferable vote quota-preferential voting system, allows the option of not allocating further preferences, uses Robson Rotation, and provides an option of voting to ‘Seek Further Candidates’ of members of the AGVAustralian Greens Victoria. The position of Membership Engagement Convenor may be held on a job-share basis, in which case clauses 15.5, 15.6, 15.7, and 15.9 of the Constitution shall apply as though ‘Office Bearers’ means ‘Membership Engagement Convenor ’ and ‘Executive’ means ‘Membership Engagement Committee’.

  2. The AGVAustralian Greens Victoria State Convenor or AGVAustralian Greens Victoria State Secretary or AGVAustralian Greens Victoria State Assistant Secretary or an Executive Member appointed by the Executive. The method for determining which of these shall be the member shall be that the AGVAustralian Greens Victoria State Convenor, unless the AGVAustralian Greens Victoria Convenor declines, in which case it shall be the State Secretary unless the State Secretary declines, and so on.

  3. Three General Members

  4. Up to three members with related specialist experience recommended by the Committee to State Council after an appropriate call for expressions of interest to party members

  5. The most senior staff memberState Director of the AGVAustralian Greens Victoria (or their representative), who shall not have a vote
